Fools Rogaine

Description: This trek/rogaine is a map and compass navigation event with a twist! Visit as many control points as possible within the 8 hour time limit, but pay attention to whatever special rules may exist so you don’t look like a fool at the end of the day! 

This year the Fools’ Adventure is a true full-course foot ROGAINE, but with a few twists and surprises. Over 100 CPs scattered throughout a course which covers 8 square miles of North Jersey rugged wilderness never before used for any foot, bike, or paddle events.  You can get the CPs in any order, but you will encounter reasons to narrow down some of your route choices.  Otherwise, you would be a fool!

Exact details of the Start location will be revealed as the event date approaches.

Duration: 10 hours: 8am - 6pm.

All racers will be provided with maps, clues, rules, and passports.  Traditional CP flags will not be hung.  Instead, the CPs will be marked by orange ribbons with the I.D. numbers printed on them.  You will have to record each CP number on your passport, or dictate it into your cell phone or take a photo of it, and then later transcribe it onto your passport.

New this year: we will be taking individual as well as team entries.

All Racers will be provided with a map and rules. The Minimal mandatory gear list is as follows:

• Appropriate clothing for the weather

• Personal first aid kit + whistle

• Cell Phone for emergency calls

• Sufficient food/water for the duration of the event

• Compass and the knowledge of using it for land navigation
